Discarded grape skin Chardonnay Vodka

Discarded Grape Skin Vodka

A Chardonnay Vodka using fruit recovered from wine making.

Discarded Story

The base of Grape Skin Vodka is made by distilling all the parts of the wine-making process that are normally discarded: the skins, stems, the seeds… otherwise known as the pomace. This is typically sold on or in most cases, destroyed. In a bid to combat this needless waste, Discarded has distilled this pomace into the base of our Grape Skin Vodka.

The second Discarded ingredient in the Grape Skin vodka is equally unique. One of the waste products created by dealcoholizing wine is what we call ‘wine alcohol’, which actually retains a lot of the flavour of the original grape. We instead wanted to celebrate the exquisite essence of this Chardonnay ‘wine alcohol’ by blending it into our Discarded Grape Skin Vodka – and thereby creating something totally new, innovative, sustainable, and utterly delicious.

How it's made

The pomace vodka base is blended together with the Chardonnay 'wine alcohol' to produce our Discarded Grape Skin Vodka.

Tasting notes

A clean crisp aroma with fresh green apple notes which then move into deeper almond croissant notes, and a bright lychee lift.

A luscious mouthfeel, with fruit-forward notes of Williams pear, guava and starfruit, then a beautiful pink peppercorn finish.
